SRVRTC Student Expectations

Expectations of Students

At the SRVRTC we model our school environment similar to that of a work environment.

Students who choose to attend the SRVRTC in Claremont are expected to follow these expectations:

  • Show up on time.
One of the most aggravating stressors an employer has is their workforce coming in late. We all have those times when things just happen that cause us to be late. We get that! We expect an anomaly on occasion. However, when it happens every day it is a problem. Students and Parents need to work together to plan for their students to be on time. Students need to be in their seats by 7:30 AM.

  • Be dressed for work.
At the Tech Center, the student gets hands-on experience in the subject of their choice. In order to learn and work in our programs you will be required to have appropriate clothing. Students not dressed for work will be required to sit out the block at the front office. All our programs require closed-toed shoes. No Crocs, slippers, or open-back shoes allowed. Students may bring a pair of shoes and store in a locker.

In the Culinary Program, students with long hair must have their hair pulled back and or under a hat or hair net. Culinary students are required to wear aprons or chef jackets.

Machine Tool Program students are required to have steel-toed shoes. We have lockers so students can store shoes and other related clothing for daily use.

Long pants are recommended for all programs. If you aren't sure if what you want to wear is acceptable, ask your teacher.

  • Get to work.
When you come to the Tech Center, you should be prepared to get to work right away. Your job is to be ready to learn and start or continue on your projects. The grade you earn is your paycheck for the work you have done. We don't have a lot of classroom time to provide you all the skills you need to be successful in your program's field.

Our students graduate from High School with real-world trade skills that regional companies have guided us on. Those trade skills coupled with these strong soft skills will allow students to elevate to the success they desire.

Success, nothing less!
