Dear Claremont Community,

Last night the Claremont School Board (CSB) voted and approved the closure of Bluff Elementary School. This means that the classrooms (with teachers and paras) will move intact to either Disnard or Maple Avenue.  I will be working closely with administrators, SREA Teachers Union, and others to ensure that this is as smooth as possible, while realizing that it will not be easy. Please note that no position will be eliminated with this plan. I want to deliver a heartfelt thank you to Melissa Lewis, Disnard Principal, Mark Blount, Maple Ave Principal, Dale Chenette, Bluff Principal and the administrative team for their hard work on this presentation.  

We are currently forming a new Superintendent's Advisory Committee to gather feedback from our community. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please complete the Google Form below. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, October 2, 2025.
