On August 26, 2025, the SAU6 Board and Superintendent Pratt met to discuss the Claremont School District’s current circumstances. Following that discussion, on August 28, 2025, the SAU 6 Board placed Superintendent Pratt on a non-disciplinary, paid administrative leave. Following that decision, Superintendent Pratt resigned from him position. Both Superintendent Pratt and the SAU 6 Board agreed that an immediate leadership transition would be in the best interest of SAU 6 as the Claremont School District navigates its historical financial challenge. The SAU 6 Board has accepted his resignation and extends its best wishes to Superintendent Pratt in his future endeavors. The search for new leadership will begin immediately.

On September 11, 2025, Claremont Middle School Principal Kerry Kennedy met with the SAU 6 Board and agreed to accept the position of Interim Superintendent. The District is developing plans to ensure that adequate support is in place at Claremont Middle School during this transition. Patrick O’Hearn has returned to his role as Human Resources Director.
